The Branded Good × Forty Wink Parenthood Collection!

behind the collection
Lianne Cawley
Lianne started this venture as a way of using her craft as a designer to do some good. The main goal of The Branded Good is to provide quality designed apparel to raise money for charitable causes - with 100% of net profits being donated with every sale. Lianne wanted to demonstrate how design can make a difference to impact our world for the better by giving people the opportunity to spend their money towards a meaningful cause.
Alex DesCôtes
Alex is a designer and active community member with a passion for helping others. She started Forty Wink as a way to share resources and knowledge to guide others in their journey through parenthood. Her hope is that this campaign will offer support through insight, awareness, and raising funds for the Canadian Women’s Foundation who are doing great things for folks in our broader community.
Jenelle Gartner
Jenelle always envisioned herself as an entrepreneur and knew she needed to start a business to achieve the lifestyle she aimed to have as a mother. In 2009 she started Pinkpolka Invitations & Stationery and specialized in wedding stationery. Eventually her business evolved into J. Gartner Studio as her work moved towards corporate events and design.
Justine Ma
After graduating from the U of A with a Bachelor of Design, Justine worked at various agencies and studios here in Edmonton. She ended up branching out on her own turning her hobby into a stationery and home goods business. Justine is a self-taught calligrapher and has been teaching workshops since 2014. She sells her whimsical designs at shows, markets, select retailers and on her online shop.
Shauna Force
In the early years, she earned a BSc in Human Ecology from the U of A, focusing on textiles and design. When the pandemic started Shauna was on quasi maternity leave from her co-owned brick and mortar business. When the business closed shortly there after she was on her own to take it in a new direction and tailor it to what she wanted to do. Fenwick & Co. became a hub to integrate all the mediums Shauna loved into a concept that fit her new phase of life.
Amanda Schutz
Amanda started her own design shop, Curio, about 18 years ago. She started the studio solo, worked with a business partner for a portion of time, went back to solo, and has had many talented staff along the way. The studio has focused mostly on branding, print design and illustration projects.
Natasia Martin
Natasia has a Bachelor of Design degree with distinction in Visual Communication and Marketing from the University of Alberta. After graduating, she dabbled as an in-house designer, working in small design studios and larger agencies. 4 years ago Natasia decided to quit her job and take the leap into full-time freelance design. In the past 4 years, her studio has grown into its own office (Then back out, silly pandemic!), and to include an employee, contractors and support team members. She's also a sessional instructor at MacEwan University and co-host LWD Edmonton.
Emily Chu
Emily graduated from ACAD in 2011. She joined the Royal Bison community in 2014 and has been slowly building her client list and networks since. From 2016-2018, she took on a teaching position in illustration at a local art college. Since then she's been working full time as a freelance illustrator. Her work is featured in magazines, murals and identity work. She is also exploring community driven work, public art, visual fine art, and helps organize the Royal Bison.
