Winter edition part two: the Book Nook with Amanda + Jake

Part two of our very first Book Nook compilation!

Today we’re sharing part two of creative director + illustrator Amanda Schutz and her son Jake’s beautiful library. As you all know, we were absolutly blown away by the collection she had put together. We hope you enjoy part two of their library!

Amanda almost always takes a new book for a trial run through Edmonton Public Library before purchasing. We absolutely love this idea!

Another important staple, Chris Haughton books are so charming and written to engage children. Plus they match as a set.

Gaston + you matter by Christian Robinson + Kelly DiPucchio

We love @theartoffun, Jake especially loves remembering the names of all the puppies in Gaston.

This one is a bit random but it was my absolute fave book as a child. I have distinct memories. Jake got it for Christmas this year and already has it memorized and reads it along with me.

Count Your Chickens by Jo Ellen Bogart + Lori Joy Smith

I’ve loved Lore Joy Smith for years. She has a new book out this week about a lamb her family adopted.

the good song + crocodiles need kisses too by Penelope Dullaghan, Rebecca Colby + Alexandria Giardino

Penelope Dullaghan is making amazing kids books these days! Her execution is so calming and peaceful.

When We Were Alone by David A. Robertson + Julie Flett

Any books by Julie Flett are a must for your library. She’s a Cree-Métis author and illustrator from British Columbia.
